Primark Nail Polish Review

When I saw these polishes in Primark for only £1 I was slightly dubious. It's one of those things with make-up that the cheaper it is, the poorer the quality, but I thought I had to give it a try. I purchased the orange polish first (far right). As soon as I started applying my first coat I was impressed - the brush is a good size so it goes on really easily and it wasn't gloopy or too thin. I only needed to apply 2 coats and that was it! I even didn't wear a top coat for a couple of days, and when I went back into Primark the sales assistant even commented and asked what polish it was! I bought another 3 colours, and I've tried them all (one is used in my recent post). You will need to apply a top coat if you want the polish to last, but I've had this one on for 4 days now and still no sign of chips!
For £1 I would definitely say it's worth it!

Nail Art

2-Tone Effect

I'm obsessed with experimenting with my nails, from different colours to different patterns, I'm constantly trying different techniques. One of my favourites is the 2-tone effect. Using 2 different colours you can create an amazing effect!
Start off by choosing your colours, I've gone for a lighter base colour but you can choose anything you like! After you've done your base allow it to dry, otherwise it will turn out messy.
Take an old kitchen sponge and rip off a piece. Using the brush add a small amount of varnish to the sponge and dab gently onto the nail. You can do it either from the bottom or the top of the nail, both work well. Don't be scared to get it around the nail, this will wash off once they're dry. Once you've done all your nails, critical to this technque is a top coat! This smooths out the effect and stops the varnish looking rough.
It's that easy and looks great so try it out for yourselves!

Marble Effect

I absolutely love this technique, it just came to me one day to try mixing different colours and this is the outcome! You'll need a kebab skewer... (Yes, trust me). Start by choosing your colours, you can use 2, 3 or even 4 but make sure they go well together! Apply your base colour. Now, the trick to this technique is to act fast, don’t let the base colour dry. You need to get your 2nd colour and add a few dots on top. Take your skewer and use the point to mix the colours to create the marble effect. If gaps start to appear don’t worry just take one of the colours, add another dot and mix again.
The finished outcome should be an amazing marble effect without needing nail stickers!
