Summer Sale Haul

So it's that time of year again when the high-street fills with racks upon racks of summer clearances and windows fill with those tempting words "Big reductions". Here are my top items I picked up in my Summer Sale Haul...

Zara has once again come out on top as one of my favourite summer sales! They don't just section off part of the store for their sale, EVERYTHING goes in, which can make it quite manic, but if you're on a mission you definitely won't come away disappointed, or better yet if you know your size in there then shop online!

H&M was where I did my biggest online sale haul. As an already cheap store, the sale just gets even better! My favourite purchase has to be my navy trench coat, which I just absolutely love and it's the perfect coat to wear all year round! I teamed it with a gorgeous stripe top that I've been admiring for ages and so when it went into the sale I just had to buy it!

Wrap around tops are really in this summer, for a simple and classic outfit. HM are the go to high-street store for these, they have them in a variety of colours!

I love the vibrant colours and marble pattern of this shift top from F&F Clothing. Perfect with jeans in the day or with cigarette trousers for a more glammed up evening look. If you haven't had a look online I would definitely check out their collection!

Peaches & Cream

My post today is centred around the classic and simple summer style. One thing I've always loved is the wide-leg trouser, they're really flattering and can be worn dressed down in the day with a simple cami, or more glammed up in the evening. I'm loving the pastel colours around at the moment, teamed with cream and lace for texture, it just looks simple and effortless. I think this top has gone into the sale, but I can't find it online, so it's definitely worth checking out in store. The Zara sale is great for a shirt/blouse to go with these trousers so it's a great place to start. Shop here

These shoes are another amazing find from Matalan. I've been looking for some beige shoe boots for a while and I didn't have much luck with the sales. But Matalan came out on top again and these were only £20. Again they're not online but I picked these up in store so it's definitely worth a look. 

I've done my nails using Primark Nail Polish which costs only £1 (full review is on my beauty page)! I've then added some french tips using Barry M gold polish for something a bit different.

I Do

Wedding season is once again in full swing and it's that time of year where you search around looking for that perfect guest outfit worthy of best dressed. But it can be a difficult decision: to hat or not to hat?

The high street once again has excelled itself. From gorgeous cocktail dresses in the typical spring/summer theme - pastels and florals - to elegant LBDs and jumpsuits you'll want to wear again and again. 

The jumpsuit I'm wearing is from Zara who have an amazing summer sale on, so if you have a wedding coming up I would definitely recommend checking out Zara. It has a slight creased effect to the material, which I couldn't work out whether it was intentional or not, but I decided not to iron it and go with it!

When putting my outfit together I centred it all around the colour, picking out the grey tones in my accessories. Statement necklaces are everywhere at the moment. I've bought quite a few pieces of statement jewellery from Matalan over the summer, they have some really beautiful pieces and it's a bargain! I loved the silk band , which added something a bit different and went so well with the jumpsuit.  I used my marble effect technique for my nails, again using the grey polish then marbelled with white (check out how to do this on my BEAUTY page), and completing my accessories with some chunky rings from Primark and a jewelled stone clutch bag.

For my make-up I kept it quite simple with smokey eyes and a nude lip. 

For my hair I just put in rollers while getting ready to give it some volume.

Orange is the New Black

Orange is this season's surprise colour. Making a statement on the catwalks of Spring/Summer 14, Orange came in a variety of shades, from dusty brick to coral hues, and there was nothing it didn’t touch. Personally, I think it’s a great summer trend and one I have made sure is featuring in my wardrobe! Everything from evening dresses to nail polish, from sandals to clutch bags, Orange has made its mark. But, one thing to be aware of is not looking tangoed. We all know what being too heavy handed with the fake tan can look like… So make sure it’s a feature in your look, and not taking over.

Picking a staple orange piece, I chose these shorts from Zara, which are perfect for summer. As a more going out look, I teamed it with a white bralet but then adding a jacket over the top to complete the look. I have to admit, when I first saw this jacket in River Island I fell in love, but when I saw the price tag I questioned whether I really wanted to spend that on a jacket. Taking it to the changing room, I thought I have to give it a chance, and that was it, I was sold. Spending this amount on one item can seem daunting, but think of it as an investment. This jacket can be worn time and time again, in the day teamed with jeans, or in the evening over your summer dress. Picking out the pastel colours in the jacket, I paired it with cigarette trousers and stilettos for an evening out.
